Yesterday's Be A Better Me (You) Challenge-Day 13 ~ Love yourself unconditionally
Let's just say that it will be one that I will be working on for the rest of my life. It's probably my biggest fault and I will have to work at it consciously and continuously. I am trying to change the way I think about myself. My head knows that I am capable and worthy of all that life has to offer, sometimes my vision gets clouded by all the minutia of the day. That is exactly why I am doing this challenge because I want to be able to accept and love myself unconditionally but I also want to be the best me that I can possibly be for myself and as an example for my girls. I don't want them to think that once they become Mommies they have to relinquish who they are. How am I supposed to tell them that they can have it all, if I show them that they can't?
Today's Be A Better Me ( You) Challenge - Day 14 ~ Pursue your passions
Back on Be a Better Me Challenge - Day 2-Admit your goals
I asked you all to admit, scream from the roof tops what your goals were in life. Tell anybody who will listen but no matter what you do, face up to them. Give them a fighting chance at coming to fruition. I hope you all did that. Now, today I want you to all do something to pursue that goal/dream. Mine is to be a published author. My blog is my portfolio. I started this blog to build my portfolio and to practice/ to pursue my life's passion. I do it everyday. Everyday I feel like I am actively working on my dream , rather than just sitting on my ass and waiting for it to find me. I am taking next steps to expand my portfolio. I'll keep you posted. I don't want to speak of it yet because I don't want to jinx myself. But I feel it, good things are on the horizon. I have adopted the Failure is NOT an option attitude. I have always thought that I could do anything but then things like time, exhaustion, places to be, things to do became an obstacle. I have to keep my eyes on the end result. I'm not stopping until I reach my passion and exhaust all my potential. Basically, I'm putting my money where my mouth is and I am going to be published or bust! Hope you will join me in taking some step towards making your dream a reality. Even if it's just a baby step, a step in the right direction is better than sitting on your ass and waiting for the world to bend to your will. You will feel so much better taking this stand to reclaim your passion in life. Be warned: In doing this, you may actually reclaim the you who is hibernating inside. Please link up and share your dream/passion and what steps you will make to pursue them.

Gulf Seafood ; Not just good food, good for you! Really?
According to the Associated Press,
THEODORE, Ala. - In a newly optimistic tone, President Barack Obama promised Monday that "things are going to return to normal" along the stricken Gulf Coast and the region's fouled waters will be in even better shape than before the catastrophic BP oil spill.
He declared Gulf seafood safe to eat and said his administration is redoubling inspections and monitoring to make sure it stays that way. And his White House said Monday it had wrested apparent agreement from BP PLC to set up an independent, multibillion-dollar compensation fund for people and businesses suffering from the spill's effects.
He declared, "I am confident that we're going to be able to leave the Gulf Coast in better shape than it was before."
That pledge was reminiscent of George W. Bush's promise to rebuild the region "even better and stronger" than before Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Bush could not make good on that promise, and Obama did not spell out how he would fulfill his.
With Obama hoping to convince a frightened Gulf Coast and a skeptical nation that he is in command, he is marshaling the tools at a president's disposal: a two-day visit via Air Force One, helicopter and boat in the region, a prime-time speech Tuesday night from the symbolically important stage of the Oval Office and a face-to-face White House showdown Wednesday with the executives of the oil company that leased the rig that exploded April 20 and led to the leak of millions of gallons of coast-devastating crude.
"I can't promise folks here in Theodore or across the Gulf Coast that the oil will be cleaned up overnight. It will not be," he said, after encouraging hard-hatted workers as they hosed off and repaired oil-blocking boom. "It's going to be painful for a lot of folks."
In Washington, meanwhile, documents released by a congressional committee indicated that BP took measures to cut costs in the weeks before the well blowout as it dealt with problems that led a company engineer to describe the doomed rig as a "nightmare well."
The comment by BP engineer Brian Morel came in an e-mail April 14, six days before the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion that killed 11 people and began the nation's worst environmental disaster.
On the Gulf Coast on Monday, one focus of Obama's remarks was the region's seafood, which faces growing doubts around the country but which Obama pronounced safe. He noted he had some for lunch — including mini crab cakes, fried shrimp and shrimp salad sandwiches — and found it "delicious."

Are you effing kidding me?What the hell is going on with Obama ? Look, I am not some Rush Limbaugh loving, Elisabeth Hasselback. Once upon a time, I even advocated on behalf of our president. I've always said that President Obama is one of the greatest speakers of our time. Hell, I'm pretty sure he could talk most anyone into doing most anything. But just because you say it is, Mr. President, doesn't make it so. I know he's all about change and we needed change but the changes we've seen lately, we don't need. We certainly didn't need oil spilling into our Gulf coast for prolonged periods of time.Of course he didn't cause this mess but he's not doing enough to get it cleaned up. He's been able to use all his "powers" to get other things done that he's wanted expedited..now apply that leadership to the Gulf. I realize that he's trying to be affirmative and put a positive spin on an otherwise incredibly horrendous situation but to tell the American people that its OK to eat the seafood in the Gulf? Come on now, does that really sound safe? Would he feed the Gulf seafood to his 2 beautiful little girls? I am thinking not. I wouldn't feed it to my girls. I'm thinking Michelle would have to step in to stop the madness. Does he have a degree in marine ecology or marine biology that I am unaware of? You may be president, but you are after all just a man, a politician at that. Now, the article says President Obama "ate" some of the food inferred to be out of the Gulf and he found it to be "delicious"! I've been to Louisiana and the food out of the Gulf coast was fantastic ;downright tasty. That was before everything was marinating in OIL for the past 56 days! Can I get some confirmation that this seafood was actually from the Gulf coast? The date at which it was caught in the Gulf coast? Whether or not he, in fact, actaully ingested it? Or did his secret service man eat it, then they put that poor bastard under observation to see if he dies from ingesting OIL! Seriously, please just stop giving us lip service and fix it. Clean up the oil! The Gulf will never be better than it was. It's damaged. Oil is not safe to eat, no matter who says it is.The BP, corner cutters need to be strung up by their balls and spoon fed some of that Gulf coast "seafood", along with any other idiot who thinks this situation is tolerable!

Truthful Tuesdays; May 25, 2010
Time to unload Ladies! Seems I am not great at the memes per say but I have decided there are two weekly posts I will revisit..Tuesdays are for being super honest and unloading all the bullshit that is weighing me down (metaphorically speaking of course) and Thursday will be for throat punching and ass kicking any and all imbeciles who are deserving of such treatment. It's cathartic and I need some catharsis in my life! So let's commence with the unloading of the proverbial bullshit! Remember, no judgment. You hear me Judgy McJudgement? I'm talking to you! If that's what you're here for, turn around and walk away. This is for us to feel better, lighter, healthier and happier not guilty! Boo to guilt!
I am sick of feeling guilty about not exercising! There I said it! I dolove to like not absolutely hate to exercise, but I hate getting started. Seriously, its such a pain in my ass to get into the gear and locate the workout dvd, shoo the girls out of my way and fully engage! Of course that brings us to point #2, I am sick of worrying about my weight. Look, I'm not going all 900 lb. mom on you or anything ( love the TLC specials) but damn is there ever a moment when women can just let that go. Seriously, I know it will never happen but for once I'd love to look in the mirror and say "PERFECT!" No matter the size or shape I am ( and believe me I think I've seen them all) I am NEVER satisfied. There are days when I am more or less satisfied than the previous day but never just completely happy with what I look like. I just want to get off this roller coaster...I don't want to perpetuate this madness. HELP!!! Dr. Phil...can you fix me? Can you say body dysmorphic disorder? Enough already! Sheez!!!!
Next, I am so monstrously sick of all the complete idiots that have been allowed to procreate and interact with children as of late! Between the Texans who don't watch their children, the men in Bangkok using the kids as human shields, the bullies in New Hampshire, and the teacher in Texas beating the student in Houston, ( all in the last couple of weeks) I am seriously becoming afraid to watch the news. That's to say nothing about sending my children out into the world with these people !Hell, I'm getting pretty afraid to go out there myself knowing what kind of imbeciles are roaming free in the world. What is this world coming to? Can we get some protection over here from the morons? They are loose and coming for our children!
One more thing, is BP ever going to get a hold on this oil spill? My God...how bad does it have to get before they actually fix this disaster? Hasn't Louisiana been through enough?
On a positive note, in complete honesty, my husband and girls are pretty much awesome this week! That could have something to do with the fact that my husband is keeping asafe distance 4 hour travel time between us and I've pretty much been giving into all the whims of my girls this week. I'm just too damn exhausted to fight them. I wonder if this is how all wars are won? Oops, hope I didn't speak to soon!Shhh! Maybe nobody heard!
Now its your turn! Time to bear your soul and unburden yourself! Happy Mothering!
