I'm back from Mexico and making the rounds...Hi! I'm back from Mexico and making the rounds in my beloved blog world.

I know exactly what you mean. When my girls were small it was so hard to find that me that I'd put away. But like I tell my sister who has small children too, those days of taking care of yourself first and foremost both physically and emotionally, they come back. I have learned as I turn the corners of my life that women tend to go down one of two distinct paths. They either have lost themselves so completely to motherhood that they have completely forgotten that girl who is still there in every woman's heart just waiting for her turn again. When their children grow up and away as they are meant to do, those women don't change. They stay mired in the eternal stage of motherhood. They keep up the frumpy look, never investing in themselves. They keep their focus on their children even after their children have left the nest. It's because they have no idea what else to do since they gave themselves completely over to motherhood.

And then there are the mothers who find these years to be the best ones of their lives as they learn to rediscover themselves.

You, my dear, are going to be just fine. To take time for yourself and your husband is exactly what you should be doing, so you never forget that girl who will be ready to come out full force when your girls fly away.

Oh and from one September girl to another, Happy Pre Birthday!Joann Mannixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11163491824085428085noreply@blogger.com
